Web Cart - Payment Service Providers
In order to take online payments you need to have an online payment provider in addition to your website and shopping cart software.
There are a number of different payment providers. With our web cart system we generally support services from WorldPay and Secure Trading. These providers offer different services depending on whether you already have Card Processing with a UK bank.
In order to take payments online with the common payment providers you need an Internet Merchant Account (IMA). This can be obtained from one of the UK Aquiring Banks or from some of the Payment Providers themselves.

These payment providers have a number of different services depending on whether you have an IMA or not. They also have additional fraud detection services.
Other Payment Services
In addition to the above PSP's there are payment service providers that do not require a IMA. These providers do not pay directly into your bank account. You will need to manually withdraw funds from these services into your bank account, additional fees may apply.
